This spring Cunningham|Quill has been awarded 5 awards that display the firm’s design excellence.  Projects range from a pool house, office and church space, a water tower architectural enclosure, and an affordable multi-family residential building.

The new screened pool pavilion and terrace, clad entirely in stained cedar and split bluestone, is located in Cleveland Park, D.C. at the edge of a steep hill, creating a tree top view from within.

This project includes 188,000 sf of Class-A office space, church worship space for 300 congregants, and a ground-floor retail program. This dynamic intervention brings new life to the Penn Quarter and Gallery Place neighborhoods.

AIA DC Unbuilt Award (Award of Merit)
The design transforms a utilitarian water tower structure into an environmental sculpture by surrounding it with a light metal framework wrapped in a transparent mesh screen that spirals around the new tower allowing the observer to perceive the structure in many layers.
