On July 9th 2013, Reston Heights received unanimous approval from the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Reston Heights, a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) mixed-use redevelopment of office, multi-family residential, and retail uses is located adjacent to the future Town Center Metro stop on the Silver Line (Phase Two-2016) .
Phase One of this redevelopment of a former suburban model retail area and surface parking lot will incorporate approximately 400 urban dwelling units, approximately 70,000 square feet of community serving and destination retail, underground and structured parking and the first portion of a new pedestrian urban plaza.
The project won unanimous approvals from the Reston Design Review Board, the Reston Planning & Zoning Committee, the Fairfax County Planning Commission and the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. In addition to Cunningham Quill, the JBG Development project team includes Olin Studio / Landscape Architecture; Urban, Ltd. / Civil Engineering; Wells & Associates / Transportation; Reed Smith, LLP / Land Use Attorney; Ehlert Bryan / Structural Engineering; and Summit Engineers / MEP.
