Scott Matties, AIA, LEED-AP elected President of AIA Nothern Virgina

At it’s 38th Annual Dinner, Elections, & Honors Celebration on October 8th, 2013, the Northern Virginia Chapter of AIA elected Scott Matties, AIA, LEED-AP, President for 2014.  Mr. Matties has been a board member of the chapter since 2008, serving as Chair of the Design Awards Committee, and joined the Executive Committee as Chapter Secretary in 2011.

Mr. Matties joined Cunningham | Quill as a Project Architect in 1998, and was promoted to principal in 2004.  Mr. Matties holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan and has more than 22 years of experience in architectural design and master planning for award-winning institutional, academic, commercial, and residential projects.  He has also served as a juror for Design Awards Programs including the AIA California Central Valley in 2011 and the Fairfax County Design Excellence Awards Program in 2009 and 2011. Mr. Matties lives in Arlington, Virginia, with his wife and two children.
