Ana Baker Completes AIA | DC Kelley Leadership Development Program

Cunningham | Quill is pleased to announce that Ana Baker, AIA recently completed participation in the inaugural Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program (CKLDP). The program, to help prepare emerging AIA | DC professionals for future leadership roles in the industry, was established in memory of Christopher Kelley, who was dedicated to the professional growth of young architects in the local design community.

From September 2013 through May 2014, 16 participants attended monthly sessions focusing on different aspects of leadership in the architecture profession. Discussion topics ranged from business management to community involvement and were organized by the participants. The seminars provided members the opportunity to network with local industry leaders, to learn from experienced professionals outside of their office, to explore research and development topics beyond their current work and to gain a broader perspective on the field of architecture.

Ana Baker, along with a colleague, planned the April session, titled ‘Beyond Green,’ which explored key strategies and collaborative methods used to design sustainable buildings (click here for a summary of the presentation).

Regarding the CKLDP, Ms. Baker stated, “Each session was extremely informative. I gained many valuable tools and met a lot of talented and interesting individuals through the program, and I would highly recommend it to other young professionals.”

To participate in the upcoming 2014-2015 Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program, a call for applications will be posted on June 5th, 2014 to the CKLDP website. Applications will be due July 14th, 2014. The 2014-2015 program is scheduled to commence in September 2014.

Congratulations to Ms. Baker and the 2014 Inaugural Class!
