Robin McGrew brings over 15 years of experience in residential, institutional design and historic preservation in the DC metro area. She joins Cunningham | Quill after living in Athens, Greece for three years. Ms. McGrew believes in cities that are diverse, connected and use natural systems to manage water, reduce heat gain and improve air quality. Site context and the specific needs of the client drive her design decisions which are always based on a strong commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Ms. McGrew is a board member of the Friendly Gardens apartment complex in Silver Spring, MD whose mission is to provide affordable housing to working families. She is also a volunteer builder with Habitat for Humanity DC. Ms. McGrew is a Certified Passive House Consultant, the highest standard for energy efficient building design. She is also a LEED Accredited Professional, a Green Roof Professional and a member of the DC Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Ms. McGrew received her BA in American Studies from Wesleyan University and her Masters in Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
