Hildy Zampella came to Cunningham | Quill Architects in 2005 with over twenty years of experience as an accountant, controller and financial analyst in the home-building industry. Mrs. Zampella has worked for firms ranging from nationwide public companies to local general contractors and developers. From 1996 to 2000, she was Vice President and Corporate Controller of The Fortress Group, Inc., which was formed from the merger of four private local builders located throughout the United States and simultaneous $130 million initial public offering of debt and equity. Mrs. Zampella was responsible for integrating, standardizing, and consolidating the financial reporting of the subsidiary builders, all with unique reporting systems. Subsequent acquisitions of seven additional subsidiaries tripled the size of the company to more than $700 million annual revenue at its peak. Mrs. Zampella also worked for several Washington, DC area regional and local builders, including NVHomes, a subsidiary of NVR, Inc. from 1989 to 199.
